refugees believes in leaving a place better than before.
"It's important that everyone participate in community activism,
whether at small levels such as picking up trash on the street,
or with more formal volunteerism," McLeod says. "It all
comes down to our investment in our families, friends and community--that's
the fabric we all rely on, whether we're aware of it or not."
